Environmental Responsibility.


As custodians for future generations, we are responsible for the protection, conservation and wise utilization of the land under our control.


We strive to ensure that the land is managed for sustainable economic growth within the framework of the Forest Engineering Practices and Environmental Management principles in South Africa.


To this end, we will strive for good environmental conservation practices to be included as the accepted norm in the carrying out of our daily forestry tasks and long term planning.

Community Responsibility.


Stevens Lumber Mills is proud to be part of the

community, over and above the Friends of Steve

Schoeman Trust, we are involved with:


Thusanang – assisting them with their ABET, primary

and pre-school programs as well as with salary

subsidies.  Transport is provided for children

attending various sporting and cultural events and

assistance is given for various building projects. 

Assisting with their Music Program by purchasing of

marimbas and training of teachers to teach children in

local schools how to play. 


Stanford Lake College – Assisted with funds to build the Barnyard and contribute to the DAD (Dream and Do) project.


Mercy Outreach – assistance is given towards their feeding schemes and skills training projects.


Lernerships – employment of up to fifty unemployed individuals which are paid and trained up on a yearly basis, with a skill that provides them an opportunity in the working environment.


Donations in the form of timber are given to local schools for shelving, fencing, desk tops amongst other projects.


Sponsorship is also given to local promising athletes


Stevens Lumber Mills also contributes to various local establishments such as;

Haenertsburg Agricultural Hall, Frail Care and HCC (Feeding Scheme).

Causes such as; Protection of the Blue Swallow and the Ground Hornbill Project.

Events such as; Ebenezer Mile, Magoebaskloof Classic, National Birding Day, World HIV Aids Awareness Day at Segwashi

Stevens Lumber (Pty) Ltd is situated in the picturesque countryside of Haenertsburg, in Africa’s’ Eden, Limpopo. We have over 600 employees and ensure that the demographics of our workforce are BEE Compliant with a level 3 status and 110% recognition. Accordingly SLM is a socially conscious and equal opportunity employer. Staff development plays an integral role here, as we believe a company is only as good as its people.

It is these people that produce and supply brandering, battens, structural timber and beams, shelving, flooring, black cross, pallet, industrial and crating, ceiling, cladding, and clear  grades as well as CCA treated cladding, to domestic and foreign country customers, of which being Botswana and Namibia.

We also comply with SANS 1783 and SANS 1288 specifications. Our CCA treatment is Hazard Class 2 and Hazard Class 3.


Our pine is sourced from commercially grown plantations, which represent a renewable resource; from which the process denudes no natural or endangered forests. We have the equipment, technology, trained staff, forests, and all the requirements to meet your needs of pine lumber, especially since we always have stock on hand.
